Be healthy by Choice - not by Chance |
|
I am very excited
about a new "online" video series from the
Coronary Health Improvement Project,
that I attended 2 years
ago as I was recovering from my heart attack. I beg you to take the time and
with all the attention you can muster - pay attention to what the videos say -
it could save your life. These videos are short condensed versions of the one
hour long videos we watched in the CHIP classes but these are worth every
short minute they take. Please put your prejudice and pride aside for a few
minutes - you will thank me.
Dr. Diehl presents
compelling video
presentations on health topics...

Once you have
watched the videos at least once - explore their site and see if there is a
CHIP program near you that you or your loved ones could attend. All of you
matter to me, very much. Remember, I love you for who you are and I am only
sending this plea because I care for your health and welfare. Be sure to watch
the videos - if you are listening - it will change your life - positively and
forever.
Be sure to email
me with your reaction to the video series - I want to know if it touched your
heart. |

Breakfast: The Right Start Every Day |
|
Beep, beep, beep?wake up! It?s time to start a new day.
As you begin your daily morning routine ? getting lunches packed, kids ready for school and yourself out the door ? the American Dietetic Association reminds you to be sure breakfast is one of your family?s top priorities each morning.
Breakfast is important to everyone?s overall health and performance. It is an early-morning refueling stop for your body. After eight to 12 hours without a meal or a snack, your body needs to replenish its glucose, also called blood sugar, the main energy source for the brain.

Monika's Vegan Soup - 100% of all essential proteins for a balanced diet in one bowl of soup. Basically no fat and absolutely no cholesterol in this masterpiece. I ran it through a Diet analyzing program and found it met all the requirements of a healthy balanced diet that when combined with 5KM of walking per day creates a healthy, lean and strong body that will eventually reach its ideal body weight with a body mass index (BMI) of 21. We all need a bit of fat in a balanced diet but we need the unsaturated type and Hummus delivers a nice balance of bean protein and healthy fats to a fat free vegetable/vegan soup meal. |

Questions from a concerned wife. |
|
Question
Upon noticing your success with cholesterol and blood pressure reduction, I mentioned it to my husband (who uses meds to reduce these), but unfortunately he was quick to say "no way" is he going to give up meat and dairy and just eat vegetables - not even for a trial period. Just to double-check, those reductions you posted were solely based on diet and not meds, right? |

So, let's conquer those carbs |
|
Hello,
I read an article (So, let's conquer those carbs) in the paper this morning that claimed that carbs were the enemy of anyone trying to lose weight or lead a healthy lifestyle. I couldn't believe my eyes - the paper was dead wrong in spite of the obvious truth that you can't live without carbs.
Here is a quick education about the truth regarding carbs and for those who don't mind reading a bit more there are 4 pages of quick points that will change your life forever.
